NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Rhode Island Air National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

This position is located in an Information Operations (IO) Squadron. Its purpose is to provide accurate and timely analysis critical to the effectiveness of unit operation and survivability of unit resources. Incumbent supports the conduct of various assessments for Department of Defense (DoD) installations worldwide to identify vulnerabilities, ensuring risks and protection needs are met. Information collected and disseminated could directly affect national security. Incumbent prepares, plans, and manages the intelligence awareness/training of squadron personnel to include threat and current intelligence briefings. Researches and analyzes adversarial countries and organizations, their methods of collection/interception of information against DoD security interests, with emphasis on adversarial telecommunications and computer infrastructure. Provides estimates of adversarial course of action, capability, and intentions to conduct Information Operations (IO). Applies gathered information towards friendly vulnerability assessments and Red Team activities. The purpose of this position is to perform complex intelligence analysis and to update squadron personnel concerning opposing force threats and capabilities specific to mission requirements and assignments.

Brief Description of Duties: Serves as the unit's expert intelligence analyst for the commander and staff. Classifies research and performs analysis of intelligence information regarding hostile military, terrorist, or other threats, in order to provide assessment teams with the ability to realistically perform Opposing Forces (OPFOR) duties. Assists in the collection of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and other intelligence areas listed above, regarding DoD installations being assessed. Coordinates requests for information with Air Intelligence Agency/Air Force Information Warfare Center (AIA/AFIWC). Collects, analyzes, evaluates and interprets intelligence data to project and recommend realistic threat scenarios, i.e., potential areas of vulnerabilities during assessments. Coordinates with mission commanders to ensure team members have necessary intelligence updates and products to prepare for and conduct worldwide DOD security exercise, assessments, Red Team, and other mission event tasking. Assists in monitoring team activities during deployment and ensures appropriate final, after-action, and other reports are accurately completed following deployments and exercises. Ensures intelligence products are adequately protected and have proper classification markings before, during, and after an assessment or other event.
Requirements:
- Incumbent must maintain membership in the Rhode Island Air National Guard.

- Valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- The applicant must possess or be able to obtain a top secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
- Background Criminal Investigations (BCI) are required for federal employment.

Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training performing functions involving various intelligence systems and organizations. Experience reviewing and analyzing data including technical reports, surveys, and studies. Experience preparing and conducting training plans and programs, both formal and on-the-job.GS-11 Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Employment in this position requires membership in the Rhode Island Air National Guard. Selected candidate(s) will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment within 60 days of the effective date of placement. Should be AFSC qualified within one year of placement action.
Military Grades: E-4 through E-7.
Compatible Military Assignments: 1N4X1, 1B4X1, 1N0X1
Substitution of education for specialized experience: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.
