Serves as command security manager for an Army Service Component Command (ASCC) and security advisor to subordinate activity commanders for the full range of security functions.
INFORMATION SECURITY: Reviews information security classification guides for consistency with Executive Orders, policies, regulations, and guidance regarding security classification criteria.
PERSONNEL SECURITY: Adjudicates derogatory, conflicting or questionable data from personnel security, counterintelligence, or criminal investigations or received from other sources and recommends continued security clearance/ access, suspension of security clearance/ access, or denial/revocation of security clearance/ access.
OPERATIONS SECURITY (OPSEC): Ensures conduct of OPSEC surveys of sensitive activities; ensures development and production of OPSEC assessments for information proposed for public release.
PHYSICAL SECURITY: Ensures development of physical security plans for safeguarding classified information. Determines physical security requirements for secure areas, vaults, and/or sensitive compartmented information facilities.
SECURITY ADMINISTRATION: Analyzes and, where necessary, supplements regulations and directives from higher headquarters; writes policy, procedures and general information materials used in regulating, implementing and managing security programs at the ASCC level. Acts as ASCC Command Security Manager in accordance with AR 380-5, DA Information Security Program.
Plans work schedules, distributes workload, establishes suspense, reviews and oversees work of the section.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
2. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
3. Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required 25 % or less of the time.

Demonstrated experience working with a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to establish, review, analyze, and resolve difficult/complex problems involving both open and closed storage facility operation and their accreditation processes. Experience with security program interrelationships in order to develop, define and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines to cover multiple security objectives; manage an integrated security program; monitor and coordinate the full range of Periodic Reinvestigations (PR) activities for personnel with clearances to include but not limited to submitting five-year PR updates, conversions, reinstatements, and adverse reports.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG-12).
0080: Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
