The Manchester VA Medical Center is currently recruiting for a full-time or part-time staff Physician specializing in Non-Invasive Cardiology to serve veteran patients in the outpatient Specialty and Acute Care Service Line. The Physician will be responsible for providing the following:
* Responsible for providing initial evaluation and follow-up visits of patients with cardiac disease.
* Expertise in both echocardiography and nuclear cardiology preferred. Additional expertise in other areas of non-invasive cardiology are welcome.
* Uses physician order entry for all prescriptions, laboratory and radiology orders, consult requests and notes into the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) Program.
* Reviews laboratory, radiology, procedure and consultation reports and
* Communicates normal and/or abnormal results to patients.
* Responsible for ensuring appropriate coding of all outpatient encounters.
* Works in a team atmosphere delivering medical care to patients.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. NO ON-CALL REQUIRED.

Physical Requirements: The Cardiologist should be physically and mentally capable to perform the duties of the position. Physical activities include sitting, standing (up to 2 hours) walking (up to 2 hours), heavy lifting (45 pounds or over), reaching above the shoulder, and repeated bending.
Preferred
Experience: Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Non-Invasive Fellowship trained Cardiologist with strong interest in clinical research and 5 years clinical experience. Outpatient facility with no inpatient work. Level II or III training in Echocardiography, fully competent in all areas of Non-Invasive Cardiology including: Performance and interpretation of Transesophageal Echo, interpretation of transthoracic echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (EKG), exercise stress tests, Holter and Event Recorder studies. Candidate will participate in quality assurance programs, attend medical staff meetings and expected to complete electronic medical records.
