The incumbent specializes in the preoperative, operative, and postoperative care of patients with musculoskeletal disorders including but not limited to:
· Acute trauma, diagnosis and care - both operative and non-operative

· Tendon and ligament injuries, management of

The incumbent will be expected to be proficient and have OR surgical privileges for procedures including but not limited to:
· ACL reconstruction
· Arthrocentesis of multiple joints
· Arthroplasty, primary and revision - including prosthetic implantation
· Arthroscopic surgery
· Cervical fractures - open reduction/internal fixation
· Foot and ankle surgery
· Fracture fixation
· Fracture/dislocation reduction techniques
· Hemi arthroplasty shoulder
· Joint reconstruction
· Ligament reconstruction
· Hand procedures
· Rotator cuff repair
· Shoulder surgery
· Tendons and nerves, repair
· Total hip arthroplasty

The incumbent provides patient care as part of a health care team, working with nurses and other medical professionals as well as with other physicians.

Basic Requirements:
Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Must be a citizen of the United States
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience:
Board certification or board eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.
Eligible for a clinical appointment to the Indiana University School of Medicine faculty.
Candidates should be proficient in the field of orthopedic surgery. The candidate will perform a wide variety of treatments focusing on musculoskeletal problems. Requirements include performing physical examinations, designing treatment plans and noting patient progress. Many of these duties may be facilitated by a certified physician's assistant who operates under his/her supervision. The surgeon may provide consultative services to medical professionals, including primary care physicians. Additionally, the candidate must be educated and remain informed on all facility and federal regulations.

Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g.,
professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student;
social). Volunteer work helps build

experience, including volunteer experience.
