Serves as an Instructor in the CYS Instructional Program. Provides individual
and/or group lessons to participants. Offers less structured activities for
parents/children. Coordinates work schedules with Instructional Program
Specialist. Develops individual and group lesson plans. Tracks participant's
accomplishments, long and short term goals, effort, and evaluations as
appropriate for age and type of instruction. Implements changes and adjustments
to instructional program and plans to meet unusual situations associated with
the needs of individual children and youth. Maintains control of
and accounts for whereabouts and safety of program participants. Continually
reviews instructional sessions and plans for appropriateness.
Conditions of Employment:
1. A one-year probationary period may be required.
2. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.
3. A completed and signed copy DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
4. Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable background checks/investigation to determine suitability for this position.
5. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility as determined by medical authority. Already immune individuals (based on documented receipt of vaccine series or physician diagnosed illness), or those subject to religious exemption, or medical contraindication are exempt from this requirement.
6. Must be available to work some nights and weekends.
NOTE (1): No person, regardless of circumstance, will be approved to provide child care services and/or approved for hire in positions designated as having regular and recurring contact with children if the background check discloses that the individual has been convicted for any of the following: a sexual offense, any criminal offense involving a child victim or a felony drug offense.
Applicants meeting the best qualified criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection. All other minimally qualified applicants may be referred if requested by the selecting official.
Minimum Qualifying Criteria:
1. Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.
6. Demonstrated skill/evidence of competence in Tap Dance.
Best Qualifying Criteria:
1. Possess a professional Certificates/Credentials in Dance; or Associates Degree or higher with 15 semester hours of college credit in Dance.
2. Possess (1) one year experience instructing tap dance.

This announcement is to recruit for a CYS Program Associate Instructor (Tap Dance) that will serve as an instructor in the CYS Instructional Program. This is an intermittent position that guarantees 00 hours and does not provide logistical support or eligibility for NAF Benefits. The annual salary in this announcement reflects a 40 hour work week. The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.
