The Oral Maxillofacial Surgery dental officer serves as a practicing dentist who performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connection with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventive measures.
The Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon will be proficient in all areas of oral maxillofacial surgery and limited general dentistry procedures, Specifically, the provider should possess the expertise and competency to perform the following:
- make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures.
- diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions.
- accomplish routine restoration of teeth.
- accomplish admissions, work-up and performance of surgical procedures and patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions.
- accomplishes dental alveolar surgical procedures, reduction of facial fractures, placement of dental implants and biopsy procedures.
- supervise and train, as attend surgeon. OMFS residents from affiliated University Hospital as defined by current letter of agreement.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Shift may change due to facilities needs.
You will be required to successfully complete the pre-employment requirements prior to being appointed to our facility.
