This position is located in the Intelligence function of the Operations Group at an Air
National Guard (ANG) flying unit. The primary purpose of the position is to perform specialized duties and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with operational intelligence. Provides detailed intelligence analysis for mission planning, aircrew briefings and debriefings. Trainer and task certifier for intelligence systems, order of battle maintenance, mission planning, threat analysis, and GI&S support.In addition, the incumbent performs complex intelligence analysis of all pertinent threat weapons systems and geopolitical conditions that could impact the unit's mission success. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(1) Assists the Senior Intelligence Officer in assuring the Intelligence function maintains a capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations. Conducts coordination and liaison with counterparts and colleagues in other major command intelligence organizations to include the National Guard Bureau (NGB), United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Security Agency (NSA), U.S. Space Command (SPACECOM), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and other agencies as required. Incumbent represents the organization at interagency conferences and meetings that deal with specialty functions and internal training requirements at the unit level.
(2) Performs assigned operational intelligence collection, fusion and analysis, and, based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develops and projects data and draws meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations. Briefs the findings and estimates of these special assignments to superiors, planners, and policy makers. Provides detailed threat analysis for mission planning and execution and unit deployments.
(3) Incumbent is recognized as a subject matter expert on order of battle and threat weapons systems. Builds and maintains threat databases for future reference. Creates and updates the section's classified and unclassified intelligence reference libraries.
(4) Incumbent serves as the Geospatial (mapping) manager for the J2. In addition to building and maintaining a map database and inventory, the incumbent is the subject matter expert on various mapping software programs to include Arcview and Falconview.
(5) Incumbent directs or assists in the direction of the security functions within the J2 section and oversees unit security inspections, security briefings and other security operations.
(6) Incumbent directs or assists in the direction of antiterrorism/force protection planning and execution and provides antiterrorism and/or force protection (AT/FP) Level-One Training to subordinate units. Ensures Force Protection intelligence is analyzed, briefed and debriefed in a manner that maximizes situational awareness of all force protection threats.
(7) Incumbent is recognized as an organizational expert within functional assignment. Incumbent is empowered to commit J2 section intelligence resources to missions and special exercises, including coordination with ARNG, ANG, NGB and other Military Service Branches as well as Non-DoD Agencies or other governmental operating activities.
(8) Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
(FOR GS-09) Must have at least Twenty-Four (24) months experience, education or training performing functions involving various intelligence systems and organizations. Experience reviewing and analyzing data including technical reports, surveys, and studies. Experience preparing and conducting training plans and programs, both formal and on the- job.
(FOR GS-11) Must have at least Thirty-Six (36) months experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports. All of which provided the candidate with the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed below.
KSAs:
I: knowledge of a variety of intelligence specialty areas along with a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.
II: Knowledge of collection and dissemination techniques and sources as well as the ability to produce instructions and manuals with a minimum of direction.
III: Knowledge of photographic mosaics, control charts, controlled photographic mosaics and overlays.
IV: Skills in researching and compiling intelligence information to be disseminated in an instructional setting.
V: Ability to relate expert knowledge of all aspects of intelligence as it pertains to tactical decision-making.
VI: Ability to analyze and evaluate raw data and information to assist the aircrew mission accomplishment process and compile finished reports.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade prior to the effective date of placement. Selectee must also be in a compatible military assignment (MOS/AFSC) prior to or within one year of placement.
