The incumbent serves as the Assistant Chief of Mental Health Services at VA Northern Indiana Health Care System (VANIHCS). Incumbent will travel between campuses in order to perform duties and supervision. Incumbent is directly supervised by the Chief of Mental Health Services.
The incumbent works with the Chief of Mental health Services in decision-making authority, responsibility and accountability on all issues affecting the MHS. He/She collaborates with operations and program/section managers to ensure integrated goals and priorities for the MHS are established and met. He/She also works closely with peers in other Service lines, Services, and management to meet the needs of the medical center's recognized customer groups. He/She is responsible to ensure all academic affiliation requirements are met in coordination with program coordinators, internally and externally. The incumbent is knowledgeable of overall VA, VISN, and medical center goals, missions, and priorities to assure a positive impact on programs and resources.
He/She collaborates with operations and program/section managers to ensure integrated goals and priorities for the MHS are established and met. He/She also works closely with peers in other service lines, services, and management to meet the needs of the medical center's recognized customer groups.
The incumbent is knowledgeable of overall VA, VISN, and medical center goals, missions, and priorities to assure a positive impact on programs and resources. He/She serves as Acting Chief of Mental health Services in absence of Chief of Mental Health Services.
The incumbent is ultimately responsible for the successful performance of the Mental Health programs as assigned. This responsibility includes the overall effective operations; including, inpatient and outpatient care, mental health services in the community-based clinics, psychology services, patient/customer satisfaction, quality of services provided, efficiency of service delivery and effective resources management.
