Experience required:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
GS-09 level
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Geospatial data collection and processing; Field topographic or hydrographic survey work; and Providing input on survey methods and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07)
You may also substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify for the GS-09 level if your education meets the definitions below:
Master's degree or 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's or equivalent graduate degree that provided me the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
Combination of education and experience
GS-11 level
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Geospatial data collection and processing; Field topographic or hydrographic survey work; Providing input on recommendations for equipment or software, survey methods and techniques, etc.; and Quality Assurance of survey work.
