THE DUTY STATION FOR THIS INTERNSHIP IS DENVER, COLORADO. UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE PATHWAYS INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS, THE POSITION MAY BE NON-COMPETITIVELY CONVERTED TO A RESEARCH ENGINEER (DB-02) POSITION WITH A PERMANENT DUTY STATION IN VICKSBURG, MS. ALTHOUGH INITIAL RELOCATION IS NOT REQUIRED, YOUR APPOINTMENT WILL BE TERMINATED IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO RELOCATE TO VICKSBURG, MS UPON COMPLETION OF THE INTERNSHIP. RELOCATION EXPENSES TO VICKSBURG WILL BE PAID.

This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project and this pay band includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-01 to GS-04.
This intern position is designed to prepare a student trainee for employment after graduation as a DB-0810-04 (equivalent to GS-14). Interns will be assigned to one or more higher graded specialists who will assign tasks designed to increase familiarity with the target occupation, in a real world work environment.
