At the full performance level:
Prepares engineering design plans, cost estimates, material take offs, specifications and other related documentation. Uses AutoCAD and other programs to prepare engineering design plans.
Ensures adherence to safety regulations at project work sites. Conducts periodic safety meetings.
Prepares and assembles engineering data for reports, feasibility studies, etc.
Develops data collection and field reconnaissance plans and coordinates with other groups and offices to gather all design data needed.
Prepares, checks, reviews and revises cost estimates to determine the most cost effective and feasible designs.
Provides construction inspection, quality assurance and contract administration activities on assigned construction projects.
Prepares daily reports of activities which includes instruction to contractor representatives, progress of construction, etc.

5. Ability to use AutoCAD and associated peripheral software to prepare engineering drawings, sketches and exhibits.
6. Skill and experience communicating technical information orally and in writing to coordinate and report on construction operations.
