EDUCATIONAL AIDE (Kindergarten), GS-1702-04
In this position, you will assist the Kindergarten teacher in the implementation of the full-day Kindergarten program for early childhood education by performing the following tasks: Assumes responsibility for conducting and guiding children in group activities such as reading, fine arts activities, etc., according to the guidelines and strategies of Building the Primary Classroom, the DoDEA Kindergarten content standards, and other educational and DoDEA directives, regulations, guides, manuals, and handbooks as well. In this position, you will assist the special education instructional program for students with disabilities. Employees in this position provide assistance in teaching skills in toileting, feeding, eating, and personal hygiene. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
All candidates must be U.S. Citizens and reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. Local commuting area is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community. EXPERIENCE:
In order to qualify for these positions, you need one year of general work experience. General work experience is defined as clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Candidates should describe experience, education, and/or training that demonstrates their ability to provide support services to professional educators in a classroom setting. Include all experience working with children in any capacity in a group or on an individual basis in an educational or recreational/social environment.
OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION of two years above high school. One year of full time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours in a college or university or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial or technical school.
