About the Position: This position is located in the Behavioral Health Clinic, Dumfries Health Center in Dumfries, VA (18 miles from Ft Belvoir). It is one of the outlying clinics that supports that Fort Belvoir Community Hospital serving the communities of Dumfries, Woodbridge, Lake Ridge and other areas south of the Occoquan River. There is plenty of parking and nearby restaurants available, located 0.2 miles from I-95. The incumbent may be required to report for duty to Fort Belvoir Community Hospital to meet mission requirements.
This position is currently located at the Dumfries Health Center location, however it will be moved to the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital location in the future.

As a Physician (Psychiatry) you will work in an out-patient behavioral health clinic and function in a capacity as staff adult psychiatrist in the Behavioral Healthcare Department. You will assess and resolve complex social, economic and psychosocial problems that may have an impact on the patients to include screening, assessment, treatment, referral, consultation and education. You will provide service to high-risk populations with behavioral health psychotic disorders. Examine and conduct thorough studies of presenting patients, evaluate laboratory and clinical findings, prescribe appropriate treatment or refer patient to appropriate specialty clinics. You will complete documentation in timely manner and meeting the standards set by the Joint Commission.

License/Certification: Candidate must have a permanent, full land unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Residency Required: A 5 year of residency training in Psychiatry or equivalent experience and training in the specialty of Psychiatry. This required training/experience will include skills such as, but not limited to, examine, diagnose, and treat adult behavioral health disorders and diseases and perform medical duties covering all aspects of disorders involving adult behavioral health.
