This position is located in the Radiology section at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) modality requires additional knowledge of super conducting magnets, the physics of super conducting magnets, and how they relate to the human anatomy in medical imaging. Duties include but are not limited to:
Work Schedule: Noon-8pm, rotating call
Functional Statement Title/#: Advanced DRT (MRI) functional statement.
Physical Requirements: Work regularly involves extended periods of sitting. There is a considerable amount of moving, bending, and carrying moderately heavy articles. The transfer and positioning of patients who are disabled, unconscious or traumatized can require considerable effort of reaching, stretching and lifting in awkward positions due to respirators, suction machines and monitors. Assistance from special devices and other employees is recommended for heavy lifting.
Basic Requirements:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including

AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic;
religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical
competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and
experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying
experience, including volunteer experience.
Advanced DRT GS-9:
Employees at this level are fully functional as an advanced DRT and are able to carry out their assigned tasks independently. DRTs at this level may have varying assignments including special and complex radiographic procedures. Regardless of the nature of the specific assignment, the work must be of sufficient scope and complexity to meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform at this level. The candidate must demonstrate the following technical KSAs and demonstrate the potential to acquire the assignment-specific KSAs designated by an asterisk (*):
