VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) is actively seeking applicants for a position as full time staff of the Emergency Medicine Section. We are recruiting for a Physician who is board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine. We seek someone who is energetic, with strong customer service skills and having current or recent emergency department experience, whose mission is to provide a continuum of quality care to our veterans. The successful candidate will be a part of an interdisciplinary team delivering customer service and patient-focused, quality care in the Emergency Medicine Service within the VANTHCS. The successful candidate will be part of an Emergency Medicine Section that cares for approximately 35,000 veterans annually. In addition, candidate must possess and maintain the appropriate professional knowledge, competencies and skills to respond promptly and expertly to the need for emergency medical care. Candidate must also have effective communication skills and work cooperatively with all staff that care for emergency patients and their families. Candidate must be compliant with VA policies and procedures as well as those of the Dallas VA Medical Center and its' medical staff. Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care and mid-level provider supervision. Typing and basic computer skills are necessary to utilize the VA electronic medical record. Current ACLS and BLS certification is required; ATLS and PALS are recommended.
Work Schedule: Irregular shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
