Duties: This position is located within the Primary Care Service at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, a secondary care facility with 11 acute beds and a 40 bed Nursing Home Care Unit, and five Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The duty location is DuBois, Pennsylvania. The duties for this position include, but are not limited to: all primary care needs, including acute and chronic illness, women's health, gender specific, mental health, and preventive care, along with coordination of care delivery. Demonstrated knowledge and competence in area of practice to include pap smears, epidemiological principles, infectious disease, adult education principles, and patient care practices.
Work Schedule: The tour of duty for this position is primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and may include some extended clinic hours, as well as weekend coverage, in the event that additional services are added.

Each dimension of practice has criteria that demonstrate essential core competencies for VHA Nursing Personnel. The criteria are as follows:

Basic Requirements For Physician Assistant:
Grade Determinations: To be determined by the Professional Standards Board (PSB) commensurate with experience and education.

Preferred Experience: The preferred candidate for this position will have a minimum of 2 years experience. The preferred candidate for this position will have demonstrated initiative, self-direction, adherence to work obligations, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
