About the Position:
Perform installation access, usage of physical access control equipment and visitor access on military installations. Safeguard Government personnel, information, operations, and critical assets in accordance with a wide variety of Federal rules and agency/local regulations/policies.
These positions will serve as Security Guards at our on-installation facility in Warren, MI or our off-installation leased facilities. Placement will be made where vacancies occur.

As a security guard you will control access of vehicles, visitors and pedestrians into military installations. Screen employees, visitors, and contractor personnel for visitor access on military installations. Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal in accordance with (IAW) federal and state laws. Control, prepare and issue identification badges, cards and passes that allow access to the installation. Deny access to unauthorized personnel or those who do not meet authorized entry criteria. Make instantaneous decisions regarding use of deadly force, operate Active Vehicle Barrier when required, and alert appropriate officials of apparent security violations. Conduct foot or vehicle patrol of perimeters, roadways, parking and other high traffic areas as well as interior of shops, storage administrative and other structures. Conduct traffic stops at the Installation Access Control Point (IACP) for safety and security checks.

Experience required:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience controlling access of vehicles, visitors and pedestrians into military installations; experience using automated systems to query and verify suitability for visitor entry into military installations; experience transcribing data using special codes IAW federal and state regulations (e.g. style codes, manufacturer's codes, wanted or missing persons, etc); and experience dealing with difficult customers who may be found ineligible for access. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Incumbent will be required to pass entry level and annual re-certification of standard Physical Agility Test (PAT) per AR 190-56 requirements. Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.Incumbent must wear prescribed uniform.
