The Syracuse VA Medical Center is seeking a Physiatrist, Internist, or Neurologist to be Chief of Spinal Cord Injury Disorders for our newly constructed state-of-the-art Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Center. Candidates must be board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine or Neurology and subspecialty certified in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine.
The Chief position involves the overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of all SCI services provided for both inpatients and outpatients. It also includes the supervision of house staff and the ability to foster/promote a proper academic environment. The Syracuse VA Medical Center is a dynamic teaching hospital that is highly regarded in the Upstate New York region and within the VA nationally. It is closely affiliated with and physically adjacent to the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University (UMU). Applicants must possess a current and unrestricted license in any State, must qualify for an academic appointment at SUNY UMU, and should have excellent diagnostic and interpersonal skills, a commitment to team building and the overall aptitude for leadership, educational development and research.
