The Examinations Branch plans and executes examinations of derivatives clearing organizations (DCOs) to determine compliance with the Commodity Exchange Act (Act) and Commission regulations and monitors financial, operational, and risk activities of DCOs to monitor the actual and potential implication of market events or systems events.

If selected for this position, you will serve as the Associate Director responsible for managing and supervising teams of professional, technical, and support staff who execute financial, operational and risk examination activities. The Associate Director oversees work operations of professional staff responsible for assessing compliance with CFTC regulations and performing oversight activities of DCOs. This will include the following:

CT-15: To qualify for the CT-15 level you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS/CT-14 level).
Specialized experience is defined as reviewing and assessing programs concerning risk management and risk operations and must have direct management experience in successfully leading or being part of an examination team in the evaluation of regulatory compliance of derivatives clearing organizations. In addition, the incumbent must have a comprehensive knowledge about, and experience involving, derivatives clearing organizations and the derivatives clearing process.
A bachelor’s and/or a master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or mathematics is desirable.
Probationary Period. If selected, you may be required to serve a one year supervisory/managerial probationary period.
Relocation. Relocation expenses will not be paid.
Time-in-Grade. You must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
