- Develop, design, and implement Environmental Education curriculum guides and Agency processes for coordinating and developing content utilizing digital interactive learning platforms, K-12 classroom curriculum, college and university curriculum.
- Lead and coordinate stakeholder groups to support the implementation of environmental education and public engagement activities external to the Agency.
- Develop partnerships with colleges and universities to solve environmental challenges through the Office of Environmental Education's environmental education programs.
- Assist and support the Designated Federal Officer for the National Environmental Education Advisory Committee and Agency senior officials by providing environment education policy, coordination, oversight, consultation, advice and technical assistance.
- Represent the Office of Public Engagement and Environmental Education to communicate with regional environmental education coordinators and leadership to assure programs are in sync with headquarters and activities related to the Administrator’s priorities.

This position is designated as Low Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation. In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as utilizing curriculum guides to develop environmental education content and lesson plans presented to virtual K-12, colleges/universities audiences using digital platforms; and implementing continuous improvement strategies for educational programs.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as developing curriculum guides to coordinate the creation of environmental education content, lesson plans and workshops using digital platforms to increase audience engagement and enrich learning for K-12, colleges/universities, and communities seeking to solve environmental problems; and experience developing and implementing partnerships and community level stakeholder engagement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You need a degree or combination of education and experience as described below to qualify for this position.
A bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position; OR a combination of courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
