    This Clinical Application Coordinator position is located in the Quality Management Division located at the Hopi Health Care Center in Polacca, Arizona. The Incumbent will serve as a specialist/integrator in the implementation and ongoing support of multi-service clinical software applications and will report to the Supervisory Nurse Specialist (Director of Quality Management).

    • Coordinate multi-service applications that support the Indian Health Service Electronic Health Record (EHR).
    • Develop project-specific data management plans that address areas such as data coding, reporting, and work flow processes.
    • Generate data queries based on validation checks, errors and omissions identified during data entry to resolve identified problems.
    • Design and validate clinical databases.
    • Perform quality control audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, or proper usage of clinical systems and data.
    • Monitor work productivity or quality to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
    • Confer with end users to define or implement clinical system requirements such as data release formats, delivery schedules, and testing protocols.

    This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Upon tentative selection, selectee will be requested to complete, sign, and submit the Addendum to OF-306, Child Care & Indian Child Care Worker Position form. Due to this requirement, the agency must ensure that persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes.

    Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957. Seasonal Influenza immunization is required for civilian health care facility staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.

    Qualifications

    To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.     BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): All applicants must meet the following minimum education requirement in order to be considered for the GS-0601 series:
    Degree: Successful completion of a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor's or higher graduate degree with major study in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0601-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: implementation integration and support of the RPMS and ancillary software packages; efficient performance of the EHR by ensuring accurate heath data capture, display and output; monitoring for new EHR and clinical application updates and planning for the smooth implementation of new features.

    Completed at least (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

    Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this positions. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-11 grade level.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0601-12:
    Your resume must demonstrate at least (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:Examples include: implementing and providing ongoing support for multi-service applications that support hospitals and clinical settings; consulting with service lines and their staff in customizing software; and training individuals in the daily operations of the applications.

    You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
