ResponsibilitiesAs a Deputy Director, Quality Assurance Division, you will:- Exercise full managerial authority in assisting the Director in the planning and execution of assigned program operations and functions. Assist the Division Director in making managerial and technical decisions required for successful program execution, administration and management of the activities of the Division.- Provide technical assistance and advice to the Single Family Homeownership Centers on matters concerning risk management and monitoring of program participants. Serve as technical expert to the Quality Assurance Divisions in the Homeownership Centers on established policies and procedures for monitoring lender performance. Perform statistical analyses on delinquency and or claim data for patterns by lender, program characteristic, and geographic areas. Prepare bulletins highlighting notable trends for management in Headquarters and the Homeownership Centers.- Recommend enhancements to detection and tracking systems. Participate in the development, testing, and implementation. Assess current risk management plans and results; recommend improvements; and participate in the development, clearance, and implementation. Represent the Division in meetings and conferences with other government agencies and industry representatives regarding the monitoring of program participants; recommend position on policy and procedural changes proposed by the industry.- Assess risk management implication of proposed underwriting changes (amendments to statutes, regulations, handbooks, etc.) and recommend policy and procedure changes when needed. Perform periodic on-site reviews of FHA-approved lenders to assess the activities of out-stationed monitors and contractors and or to determine lenders compliance with loan origination and servicing requirements. Evaluate the data and information obtained during the reviews and prepare reports on results. Recommend actions to correct lender deficiencies referred or reported to Headquarters; follow-up to assure that appropriate corrective action is taken; recommend disposition of proposed settlements.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes supervising or directing a staff in at least TWO of the following areas within the mortgage industry:

- Mortgage underwriting
