    The AOC is accepting applications for multiple Photography Aide summer internships that offer skill enrichment and experiential learning while promoting careers in the public service.

    Responsibilities

    Photography Aide: The Photography Branch offers a range of mission-critical work to Photographer Aides in three main areas: photography, photography Preservation and Archiving, and office clerical work. Operation of cameras and related equipment, and assistance to photographers on photography and videography shoots, sometimes on construction sites and on safety-approved scaffolding. Assistance with photo and video post-production, including color correction, metadata entry, editing rough cuts of video and sound, preparing image and other files for delivery both in both electronic and printed form. Work with Photography Archivist on a variety of projects with both digital and hard copy photographic materials, including preservation and conservation work (including scanning) of holdings in a variety of photographic media. Office Clerical Work involves assistance with inventory control, and handling incoming phone calls. Work occasionally involves lifting and carrying heavy equipment (up to fifty pounds) and may involve working in environmental extremes, such as heat, humidity, or in dusty or dirty spaces.

Candidates are eligible to participate no more than three years, collectively or consecutively, in the Summer Intern Employment Program. Candidates who have reached the three years in the program will be deemed ineligible to participate this calendar year.

    This is an Excepted Service Position in the Architect of the Capitol, a Legislative Branch agency of the Federal government. The position does not require or confer civil service Competitive Status.     Required Documents for Summer Internship Positions

    The Architect of the Capitol's (AOC) job application process is designed to ensure you only provide information necessary to evaluate your qualifications and eligibility for the position vacancy.
