- Repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance of sophisticated medical and dental equipment.
- Provide technical Skills in the selection, installation, modification, testing, and evaluation of medical and dental equipment.
- Provide user/operator training on new devices and their functions.
- Conduct recordkeeping activities to maintain compliance with statutory regulations and accreditation standards.

QualificationsTo qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree or LL.M and/or One (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level.
Examples of Specialized experience: Advise on special projects involving the installation, service and repair of highly complex medical equipment and systems. Provide clinical staff technical advice or reviews of new equipment considering needs, environment, available facilities, network requirements, quality, repair ability, purchase, etc. Set up and install new patient care systems, conduct preventative maintenance checks and services (PM) inspections of patient care equipment. Investigate patient care equipment failures, hazard alerts, recalls, updates and incidents; order parts and accessories as necessary to perform repair functions.
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
