    Responsibilities

    THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION

    The primary purpose of the SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN), GS-2210-13, is to provide supervision, subordinate guidance, and team leadership to dual status, non-dual status, and civilian employees. They are accountable for directing the information and data integrity of all base and tenant organizations, as well as geographically separated units (GSUs) and communications and information functions. As the supervisor, the incumbent coordinates with DOD, AF, MAJCOMS, National Guard Bureau (NGB), other activities, and Wing Flying Units to procure, distribute, maintain, and replace requirements for all information technology (IT) and telecommunications infrastructure. Performs long-term planning and organizational development necessary to accomplish IT and telecommunications functions for programs essential ANG daily operations, training, and readiness missions.

    May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

    CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

    AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment.
    AREA II= Current California National Guard members.
    AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment).

    Relocation Costs MAY BE authorized subject to provisions of the Joint Travel Regulation, funding, and an agency determination that a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is in the Government's best interest.

    Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives.

    This position conducts information assurance functions. the incumbent shall comply with the requirements of the certification program and will be required to obtain and maintain certification. certification requirements are outlined in dod instruction 8570.01-m

    Qualifications

    General Experience: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles to understand the stages required to automate a work process; Experience gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

    SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN), GS-2210-13: Must have at least 36 months experience that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment; Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
