This position is located in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's Human Resources Solutions (HRS), Federal Staffing Center (FSC), USAJOBS Program Office. - Serves as a User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI) Designer utilizing Human-Centered Design research methods to provide insights and drive product and service design and delivery.
- Leads the interdisciplinary design efforts for the USAJOBS Program and unifies design efforts across FSC programs from ethnography through implementation and evaluation.
- Develops, supports and executes iterative testing efforts and recommends design improvements in the form of user stories and/or prototypes for scrum teams as outcomes.
- Provides support to agencies in applying software, processes, and solutions in their work environment, through coaching, facilitation, and resources to encourage best practices in human capital management.

QualificationsTo qualify for the grade GS-13, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Such experience includes: 1) Integrating strategic creative user-centric design or business requirements in the development of websites and applications to ensure delivery of optimal experiences for users; 2) Utilizing human-centered design research methods in improving the usability, accessibility, and desirability provided in the interaction with web sites and applications; 3) Conducting qualitative research or field observation to gather aspects of the web site or application as perceived by users, and user experience; 4) Developing graphic materials, website content and other media deliverables including field of composition, cover execution, layout and paste-up of text and illustrations for publications, templates, slides, charts, graphs, and other materials; 5) Developing and executing usability and usefulness testing efforts which may include test scenarios, test tools, recruitment of test participants, coordination of testing, and recommendation of design improvements; 6) Facilitating problem-solving or prototyping sessions, design sprints, scrum teams or other meetings and sessions. How You Will Be Evaluated
In order to be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process. In addition to the application and application questionnaire, this position requires an online assessment. The online assessment measures critical general competencies required to perform the job. The assessment includes a cut score based on the minimum level of required proficiency in these critical general competencies. You must meet or exceed the cut score to be considered.
