Provides technical support work, under moderate supervision, involving an extended practical knowledge of one or more of the physical sciences that may include mining and mineral material permit administration, abandoned mine land assessments, oil and gad drilling inspections, well pad location mapping and inspection and collecting samples for various resource concerns.
Prepares and maintains basic information and documentation in hard copy or electronic files documenting information related to the assigned resource issues.
Physical Demands: The work is a mixture of sedentary work in the office and field work that involves some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; possibly recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or requiring lifting of moderately heavy items.

Examples of specialized experience may include preparing and maintaining basic information in hard copy or electronic files; survey field sites for basic facts for entry into databases; perform data collection and analyses, interpret results and note observations; OR successful completion of a full four year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with major study in an appropriate field of physical science or that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as physical science, engineering or any branch of mathematics except financial and commercial mathematics; OR a combination of experience and education to meet the total experience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
