This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquaters. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Security Specialist and as a point of contact on intelligence matters.
As a(n) SECURITY SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-0080-9, you will perform but are not limited:
Implements security regulations through spot-checks or random sampling of classified defense documents. Conducts scheduled and unscheduled security inspections. Evaluates clearances author ized to ensure clearance level st or management officials and personnel are commensurate with the information handled. Advises on the adverse effects to national security that results from unauthorized disclosures of classified information under their possession or control. Indoctrinates personnel on the criteria for classifying, downgrading, declassifying, marking and disseminating information as prescribed in the regulations. Alerts personnel to the strict prohibition regarding improper use and abuse of the classification systems. Provides guidance on procession security violations. As necessary, initiates action to appoint an inquiry officer to conduct a preliminary security investigation. Reviews investigation results. Makes recommendations on disposition of violations. Reviews procedures for safeguarding classified material. Ensures combinations and security locks are changed in accordance with securely and intelligence directives on an emergency basis. Prepares inspection reports. Prepares reports as required on security and intelligence issues on discrepancies found and corrective action to be taken. Performs follow up inspections or inquiries to ensure problem areas are corrected. Ensures security clearance rosters are maintained and are current. Develops special security clearance requirements (Governor, etc.). Monitors security clearances. Makes recommendations regarding individuals that need clearances and those individuals that no longer require security clearances or clearances that can be downgraded, or terminated.

The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. Other requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: All Series GS-0080 personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Applicants must have the experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least Twelve (12) months'experience in the security career field, to include technical training schools and drill-status working experience.Skilled in analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues and problems. Knowledgeable and understands the National Guard and gaining command organizational structure, missions and responsibilities. Skilled in utilizing judgment to interpret guidelines, policies, regulations, precedents, and work directions for application to specific cases or problems
