The position of Director of Administration and Management is located in the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), U. S. Department of Labor (DOL). As the Director, the incumbent will provide planning, coordination and direction of a full range of administrative and management services in support of the Agency's mission to prevent injury, disease and death in the mining industry. The incumbent serves as the principal advisor for the Assistant Secretary on matters and policies pertaining to Office of Employee Safety and Health; Human Resources Management; Diversity Recruitment and Outreach; Acquisition Management; and Support Services Management. Maintains frequent contact with key officials in MSHA Headquarters and the Field to effect a coordinated management effort that will maximize the agency's effectiveness as a field-based inspection/enforcement agency. Within the parameters of DOL/MSHA policy and program objectives, the Director exercises development and decision-making authority for new or revised administrative policy and procedure directives, and all matters involving internal program plans and operations that do not involve precedent setting policy or political implications.

MANDATORY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS (MTQs): In addition to the ECQs above, qualified applicants must possess the following four (4) technical qualifications which represent the experience required to perform the duties of this position. 4. Knowledge of facility management including GSA facility, and vehicle requirements.
