THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION
The primary purpose of the LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0346-9/11, is to implement logistics policy programs and procedures, utilizing automated/non-automated systems for the accurate control of logistical planning in support of unit tasked contingency operations around the world.
- Serves as the program manager for the Integrated Deployment System (IDS) Deployment Management System (DeMS), Contingency Operations/Mobility Planning and Executive System (COMPES), Logistics Module-Base Level (LOGMOD-B), Computer Aided Load Manifesting (CALM), and Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS).
- Plans and develops deployment training for the unit, in addition to conducting deployment training exercises.
- Validates load plans, hazardous cargo, priority shipments customs clearance requirements.
- Reviews resource/logistics plans, programs and deployment activities with the commander to ensure authorized mobility equipment is available or on order, and ensures equipment is properly budgeted.
May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

QualificationsGeneral Experience: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field; experience using computer and automation systems.
LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0346-09 (Trainee): Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training involving detailed knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e., supply, maintenance, quality assurance, facilities); experience integrating actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to meet program goals; experience interpreting and applying regulations, laws or practices. Experience planning and organizing work assignments.
LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0346-11: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations; experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan; experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan; experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions; experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices.
TRAINEE POSITION: Applicants not meeting full qualifications for the GS-11 position indicated above may be considered for GS-09 trainee, if qualified. Statement-of-Difference of qualification requirements for each are indicated. If appointed as trainee, the selectee may be non-competitively promoted to GS-11 upon meeting full qualifications and recommendations of supervisor.
