This position is located in the General Services Division, Office of the Executive Director, Bureau of Consular Affairs, Department of State, CA/EX/GSD. This position serves as a Senior Support Services Specialist with significant responsibility for planning, coordinating and providing a variety of support functions for the Bureau.

- Serves as procurement and contract advisor for the bureau and other areas serviced for required services, supplies, equipment and construction.
- Conducts studies related to providing general administrative support to the Bureau and serviced offices.
- Initiates and maintains systems of the verification and tracking of vendor invoices and takes action to process these bill.
- Manages operations involving the use and control of property and equipment.

- Secretarial work that required monitoring and coordinating administrative and processing work of subordinate elements through a system of internal procedures, controls, production, progress reporting, etc., to insure the efficient operation of an organization.
- Military experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support functions such as communications, property management, mail service, facilities and equipment maintenance, etc.
In addition, qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience assessing existing and new support services programs to determine how best they can be implemented.
- Experience in procurement, space management, printing, records management, contractor administration, property and facility management, customer service and supply chain management.
- Experience in developing cost estimates, and financial plans for cost associated with the procurement of furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Experience in telephone requests and installations, cable drops, reconciling of bills, and answering questions pertaining to telephone services
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
