The primary purpose of this position is to perform work in support of the 18 AF commander, Vice Commander, Command Chief Master Sergeant, Reserve Advisor, guard Advisor and command staff providing them with a wide spectrum of executive support assistance. Serve as the 18 AF Trip Specialist, including coordination of all aspects of worldwide travel arrangements, to include compiling and producing trip books and itineraries, and manages the administrative resources assigned to these areas. Provides technical assistance in the areas of trip scheduling, protocol, and resource analyst functions in evaluating and improving the efficiency, effectiveness and the productivity of the 18 AF organization and programs.
- Acts as the single point of contact for all official travel by 18 AF/CC/CV/CCC/CR/CG.
- Makes travel arrangements for 18 AF/CC/CV/CCC/CR/CG
- Rapidly respond to questions, resolves conflicts, and revises itineraries due to changes that arise en route or during official visits.
- Serves as Organizational Defense Travel Administrator (ODTA) for the Defense Travel System (DTS).
- Serves as the single point of contact for planning, organizing, and advising 18 AF units hosting social events supporting the 18 AF/CC/CV/CCC/CR/CG
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions; Administrative and Management. http://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=GS-ADMIN
Possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the (GS-7)grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent in the private or public sector which demonstrates: Managing, coordinating, integrating, preparing travel books, travel confirmations, travel reservations, lodging, scheduling briefs, offices calls, speeches, press conferences, preparing travel orders, scheduling transportation and preparing travel vouchers; Gathering, identifying, analyzing extensive knowledge of coordination requirements, security directives, and protocol etiquette and serving as the resource advisor on TDY, and competency concerning policies, procedures associated with the Defense Travel System (DTS).
Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. [remove LL.B or J.D., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your official college transcripts.
Possess less than the full amount of specialized experience described in the job opportunity announcement; however, and I have at least one year of progressively higher level graduate education, but have not obtained a master's or equivalent graduate degree. Therefore, I have a combination of experience and education. Note: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of regulations, pertinent laws, standards, guidelines, policies, principles, practices, procedures, doctrine, tradition, customs, goals, and current issues of 18 AF and Air Mobility Command as well as the United States Air Force as a whole, to effectively manage, coordinate, and integrate all staff actions associated with official trips.
2. Knowledge of practices, policies and procedures to develop the budget for official trips and associated travel arrangements, prepare travel and pay vouchers, and produce periodic reports.
3. Skill in written and oral communication principles, methods and techniques.
4. Knowledge and general understanding of Air Force, DoD, MAJCOM, and military traditions, customs, and goals to interact with internal and external organizations, foreign governments, military departments, and private industry.
5. Skill in applying analytical techniques to gather, and evaluate a variety of information to draw conclusions and construct appropriate solutions to problems.
6. Knowledge of protocol and etiquette standards and procedures, both foreign and within the United States Government, to include all branches of the United States Armed Forces.
7. Skill in gaining cooperation from others using tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
8. Knowledge of policies and procedures to accurately document all official trips for 18 AF historical files and other agencies.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
