    About the Position:
    This vacancy announcement is a standing register that will be used to fill TERM vacancies within the United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) Logistics Activity with offices in approximately 47 locations.

    • THERE MAY NOT BE VACANCIES IN ALL LOCATIONS.
    • VACANCIES WILL BE FILLED AS THEY OCCUR AND Referrals will be processed as needed.
    • A referral can be processed 5 days after the announcement opens. All applicants can receive consideration through the closing date of this announcement and thru 90 days after the vacancy announcement is closed.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide a variety of technical supply support to a district or laboratory as a member of a USACE Logistics Delivery Point team.
    • Provide assistance for all areas of supply management as required to all customer elements, which may include a USACE division headquarters.
    • Management of expendable / non-expendable items and materials, which are handled through central supply channels, coordinating direct purchase, and formal procurement procedures that sometimes require extensive fact finding, analysis and research.
    • Conducts physical inventories of a broad range of diverse, specialized items, some of which are difficult to identify and/or differentiate from others, and which require special treatment in handling and storage.
    • Prepares recurring and special reports and compiles statistics from data requiring substantial analysis, interpretation, and development of new formats.
    • Solves a variety of problem situations pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.     One year of specialized experience which includes experience with property handling, researching data and reports and fact-finding, and/or ensuring supply support for production.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

    You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

    Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

    • Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
    • Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE , if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years.
