    This National Guard position is for a Production Controller (Automotive), Position Description Number D1705000and is part of the NJ 177th LRS SQ, National Guard.

    NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

    Responsibilities

    As a Production Controller (Automotive), GS-1152-9, you will:

    • Project parts, contract services, funds, and personnel required
    • Assign work priorities for all scheduled/unscheduled maintenance
    • Ensure the workload is balanced between work centers
    • Jointly establish overall objectives with supervisor
    • Conduct vehicle operator debriefs and assign repair requirements to proper work center
    • Analyze, plans, and carry out recurring production control tasks
    • Independently resolve most production, labor, machine and material conflicts that arise
    • Schedule maintenance with local vendors as required
    • Manage and audit cost data to ensure all material is validated and properly charged
    • Provide management detailed analysis on current or potentials problems

    Conditions Of Employment

    • National Guard Membership is required.
    • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
    • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
    • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

    MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

    Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.     Selective Placement Factors: To obtain the required AFSC, acceptance of this position requires a minimum ASVAB score of 41 in the Administrative area. The ASVAB score will not be required to apply for the position, however applicants must obtain the required ASVAB score prior to acceptance of the position. The applicant must verify their score with their Military Personnel Flight/Military Personnel Office.

    Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

    Qualifications

    GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
    Must have experience, education or training which indicates that you can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understand the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
    Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training in the following;
    • Preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes.
    • current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.
