    This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D2240P01and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing, Air National Guard.

    NOTE: (VMPF) Military RIP or AF Form 2096 is REQUIRED to verify 7 Skill Level requirement.
    Individual selected will receive a Permanent Appointment after successful completion of a one year trial period.

    NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.     Responsibilities

    ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-13, this position is located in Fort Huachuca, AZ, Launch and Recovery Element (LRE) in support of the Remote Piloted Aircraft (RPA) flying mission. It is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multisystem avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial or radar navigation systems.

    • National Guard Membership is required.
    • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
    • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

    MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

    Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.     Military Grades: E-5/SSgt - E-7/MSgt

    Must possess a 7-level in any of the following AFSC: 2A0X1, 2A2X1, 2A2X2, 2A2X3, 2A3X4, 2A8X2, 2A9X1, 2A9X2, 2A9X3

    Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

    Qualifications

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic integrated systems equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic integrated systems equipment. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.

    How You Will Be Evaluated

    Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):

    The following competencies need to be addressed on the AZ NG 335-2-R Form (for additional space please use MS Word document)

    1. Knowledge of electronic theories and practices of integrated electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, optical, and mechanical systems of such applications as digital or analog computers, digital display devices which enables the incumbent to understand and predict the effects of subsystem malfunctions on the total function system.

    2. Ability to apply electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integrated systems where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error data and trace problems back through a number of units of the system to locate deficiencies.

    3. Knowledge of the technology and practices which integrate the components of the systems into a total functional system. Determine methods of repair where extremely complex relationships exist among numerous inter-connected units and control circuits; not only within the individual control systems but between them as well.

    4. Ability to accurately identify, isolate, repair, align, and adjust complete multi-system complex malfunctions of the aircraft where target acquisition and tracking, weapons control, aircraft attitude control, navigation and other complex functions are performed by numerous systems which are extensively interconnected with data feedback loops.

    5. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
