The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions. Positions may be filled as permanent or term with a full-time or part-time work schedule.

FOR THE GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector OR have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree OR have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled OR have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Assisting in the development or execution of support plans during any stage of the logistics life cycle (i.e., design, manufacture, operation, and disposal).
FOR THE GS-11:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector OR have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled OR have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Identifying or integrating requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support a product or program for any stage of the logistics life cycle (i.e., design, manufacture, operation, and disposal).
FOR THE GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Performing logistics inventory management to support a product or program for the development or execution of support during any stage of the logistics life cycle (i.e., design, manufacture, operation, disposal).
FOR THE GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Managing or coordinating requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and personnel needed to support a project or program in the development or execution of support plans during any stage of the logistics life cycle (i.e., design, manufacture, operation, disposal).
