    If a

    New Jersey Army National Guard (NJARNG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJANG.

      

    If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

    This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the New Jersey Air National Guard.

    Responsibilities

    The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

    MAJOR DUTIES:   Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the technician and lower graded machinist(s).  Performs the full range of shop work.  Implements safety regulatory requirements.  Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization, and command support exercises.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  APPLICANT MUST PROVIDE A COPY OF A CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.

     

    GENERAL EXPERIENCE:    Experience or training that has provided the candidate with a basic knowledge of machining processes; must have the ability to use drill presses, shapers, planers and other types of associated machine tools.

     

    Please address the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's) in your resume:  Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

     

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Must have 18 months of experience in the following:

    ABILITY to perform the full range of machining operations on most types of conventional or Computer Numerical Control(CNC) machine tools and their various attachments.

    ABILITY in planning and laying out work from blueprints, worksheets and other drawings that may have missing or incorrect information.

    SKILL in applying shop mathematics in establishing needed dimensions.

    SKILL in programming machining operations, setting up and operating CNC machine tools.

    ABILITY to apply advanced shop mathematics such geometric and trigonometric formulas.
