This position is as a Clinical Child Psychologist in connection with the Educational Developmental and Intervention Services (EDIS) Program, at U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa Japan. The work involves participating and/or leading an interdisciplinary evaluation team, providing consultant to other medical and clinical professionals within the individual's area of expertise. Services primarily include a full range of clinical diagnostic and treatment services to eligible children from birth to twenty-one years. To a lesser extent, a full range of clinical psychology services are provided to other Department of Defense health care beneficiaries of any age on a space available basis, after the educational needs of the target population have been met.

A typical day in the life of a Clinical Psychologist!
·Execute a full range of clinical psychological diagnostic, strategies, procedures, and intervention services for the Educational Developmental and Intervention Services (EDIS) for children birth through 21 years of age with developmental, emotional, behavioral disorders which have a negative impact on a childs ability to benefit from their educational program.
·Participate as an authoritative resource expert on the EDIS interdisciplinary evaluation team, providing consultation to medical, clinical providers and school personnel on complex pediatric mental health cases.
·Work as an independent clinician, administer, score, and interpret psycho-diagnostic tests used for diagnosing mental, personality, behavioral disorders for children and adolescents with complex interpersonal developmental disorders.
·Provide direct therapy, consultation, and co-teaching models of services to children with identified psychotherapy needs as indicated by evaluation and on the Individualized Educational Plan or on an Individualized Family Service Plan.
·Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Department of Defense Dependents Schools educational personnel. ·Provide
consultation and guidance to Department of Defense Dependents Schools and other staff personnel concerning the psychological functioning of students.

- Travel is dependent upon position and availability funding . Extended long distance and local travel to provide itinerant services is required as needed.
