How You Will Be Evaluated

Applicants will be rated according to responses to the occupational questionnaire. A review of the resume and other supporting documentation of the highest scoring applicants will be conducted and compared against the responses to the occupational questionnaire to determine qualifications.  Applicants will be rated according responses to the occupational questionnaire.  The score, based on responses to the questionnaire, is a measure of the degree to which an applicant's background matches the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.  If, after reviewing your resume and or supporting documentation, a determination is made that qualifications and/or experience have been inflated, your score can and will be adjusted to more accurately reflect your abilities.  Please follow all instructions carefully.  Errors or omissions may affect your rating. Any exaggeration of your experience, false statements, or attempts to conceal information may be grounds for rating you ineligible, not hiring you, or for firing you after you begin work. Your resume and supporting documentation will be verified.

You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".

Category rating procedures will be used to rate and rank candidates. Candidates will be ranked into 3 categories:
Best Qualified - applicants possessing experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are highly proficient in all requirements of the job and can perform effectively in the position.
Well Qualified - applicants possessing experience that exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in most of the requirements of the job.
Qualified - applicants possessing experience that meets the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in some, but not all of the requirements of the job.

VETERANS PREFERENCE: Veteran's preference applies to category rating.  Within each quality category, veteran's preference eligibles are listed first, including CP, CPS, XP, and TP.  In addition, veterans who have a 10% or more service-connected disability, (CP or CPS) are placed at the top of the highest quality category.  Applicants referred are listed on the selection certificate (veteran's preference eligibles before non-veterans) without scores.
