DUTIES:

This position is the Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health Care Line (MHCL) – Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). As a supervisory LCSW for Mental Health Care Line at the VA SORCC; you are responsible for articulating the mission and vision of the Mental Health Services, developing the functional statements or scope of practice for all Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Social Workers in MHCL designing a service plan, and assuring implementation of quality improvement measures. The incumbent is responsible for developing, planning, clarifying administering and managing all areas of mental health care including the implementation of VA Handbook 1160.01, Primary Care-Mental Health integration, and requirements of oversight agencies including The Joint Commission and Office of Inspector General.  The successful candidate for this position will have experience running large and complex social and behavioral programs and possess extensive management/supervisory experience that involve several clinical disciplines that provide mental health care to veterans.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Basic Requirements: Masters Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Be licensed or certified at the Master’s Level to independently practice social work in a state (i.e.; LCSW)

IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC REQUIREMENT:

 

For GS-13 Level: In addition to meeting all basic requirements, 1 year of professional social work experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level, under qualified social work supervision. This experience must have been in a clinical setting and have demonstrated the potential to perform advanced assignments independently.


Masters Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
