The full performance level for these positions is GS-13. Applicants will be considered at the GS-11, GS-12, and GS-13 grade levels.
The position is ideal for those who enjoy working on integrative, multidisciplinary teams, utilizing evidence based therapies within a recovery oriented approach. The position will encompass a significant amount of integrative treatment, and the position requires a person who is well versed in a variety of evidence-based therapies or one who is seeking further experience with these approaches. Funding is available for learning new therapies and attending conferences. This opening provides the incumbent psychologist with discretion in building their own caseloads and clinics, participating in psychology Masters, pre-doctoral, and post-doctoral training programs, research, and refinement of individual clinical expertise. Psychologists are full members of the medical staff.

The optimal candidate will have a broad variety of assessment and therapy skills, including training in Evidenced Based Therapies. The incumbent will provide evidence-based health and geriatric psychology in the homes of Veterans with complex disabling diseases by performing capacity/competency assessments, screen for cognitive deficits, assess Veterans for advance directives, provide individual/group psychotherapy, and provide psycho-educational and supportive interventions. In addition, the HBPC psychologist provides effective interventions with spouses and family members oftentimes serving as caregivers to home-based Veterans. Lastly, the HBPC psychologist will facilitate transition and adjustment of Veterans into new living environments (e.g., nursing home, assisted living facility). Eligible recent post-docs and other new graduates are encouraged to apply.
