JOB SUMMARY:

  • The Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) is Army's new approach to delivering healthcare to our soldiers and their family members. The PCMH model creates medical homes, giving patients and providers the chance to get to know one another better so that personalized care plans can be developed. The PCMH practice is responsible for providing for all of a patient's health care needs or appropriately arranging care with other qualified professionals.     DUTIES:

    You will be a Clinical Psychologist serving as an Internal Behavioral Health Consultant (IBHC) working in a primary care setting for the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). You will perform psychological and bio-psychological evaluations during time limited sessions. You will diagnose patients that have psychological disorders that result or intensify from injury or disease. You will develop, teach, and oversee groups that promote education and skill-building; these groups enhance psychological and physical health, while promoting behavioral change. You will refer patients to other departments and community services to receive specialty care. You will apply evidence-based interventions and treatment to patients with general behavioral health problems (e.g. depression and anxiety) and behavioral medicine concerns (e.g. chronic pain, obesity, and sleep problems).


    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree: Applicants must have completed all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
  •  

  • Specialized Experience: One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower level (GS-12) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience which involves screening and evaluating patients, providing assessments and diagnosis, and developing treatment recommendations.

    Licensure Requirement:

     

  • Applicants must possess a current, valid, unrestricted license as a Psychologist from the recognized licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
