Serves as Aviation Safety Assistant in a Flight Standards Field Office. Provides administrative and semi-technical support to the Aviation Safety Inspectors by obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing certificates, and maintaining technical and administrative files. The incumbent works under the supervision of the team supervisor.


To qualify for grade FG-6, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-D, FG/GS-5 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience may include but not limited to: variety of administrative functions such as typing, filing, maintaining logs and records, drafting letters and memos, and preparing reports.

Must be able to type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
