"At the Congressional Research Service we consider it a privilege and a calling to work for the U.S. Congress"   - Daniel P. Mulhollan, Director

Who We Are

For nearly a century, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) has had a long and unique tradition of providing confidential, authoritative and objective analyses to Congress to support its legislative deliberations and oversight activities. Located on Capitol Hill, within the Library of Congress, CRS employees are shared staff to committees and Members of both the House and Senate.

CRS experts identify and clarify policy problems and explore policy options, assess the implications of proposed policy alternatives, monitor and assess program implementation and oversight, and help congressional staff understand legislative procedures and processes.

Working in our dynamic and engaging environment, you will have the opportunity to become a part of a team of nearly 700 employees Service-wide, including more than 450 policy analysts, attorneys, information professionals and experts in a variety of disciplines - from law, economics and foreign affairs to defense and homeland security, public administration, education, health care, immigration, energy, environmental protection, science and technology. The breadth and depth of this expertise enables CRS staff to mobilize quickly, working together in flexible groups to provide integrated analyses of complex issues.

Career Opportunity
