This position is that of the Director Technical Services/Investigative Operations, Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Management. The mission of the OIG is to conduct independent and objective audits, investigations, and other reviews to support NSF in its mission by promoting the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness, and safeguarding the integrity of NSF programs and operations. OIG is an independent organization with law enforcement authority under the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, and OIG conducts investigations relating to NSF programs, grants, contracts, and operations pursuant to Federal statutes.
The incumbent supervises the Investigative Support Division and other programs, and undertakes a variety of special projects consistent with, and in support of, the OIG mission, vision, and strategic plan. The incumbent will perform a myriad of diverse tasks across administrative, financial, human resource, IT and procurement programs. The incumbent will supervise a staff comprised of administrative assistant(s), forensic accountants(s), IT Specialists, and investigative and management analyst(s), providing support and assistance to investigations, special projects, multidisciplinary reviews, outreach, and other investigative and OIG-wide undertakings.

Supervises a professional staff, responsible for operational and technical support of investigations, audits and inspections involving US-funded scientific research projects, prominent figures in public service and/or the scientific community and academia; and are of Congressional interest.
Provides expert advice, guidance, and recommendations to NSF management and personnel relating to policies, procedures, practices, and strategies, both OIG-wide and office specific.
Reviews proposed policies to assess impact on current operations and makes recommendations.
Supervises operation of OIG Intake process and procedures. Directs and supervises assessments and coordinates with internal investigative resources to initiate investigative process. Represents OIG in federal hotline working groups, symposia, and meetings. Ensures the security and integrity of Hotline communications.
Supervises others in the conduct of special projects and studies, Develops, or supervises others in the development of profile data and trend analysis. Identifies trends or indicators of illegal or improper activity from information reviewed. Correlates information to support ongoing investigations.
Prepares, and supervises others in the preparation of, interim and comprehensive final reports for prosecutorial and management officials. Responsible for coordination and integration of work product of subordinate management analysts, investigative analysts and forensic accountants.
Coordinates with OIG CIO in overseeing OIG IT policy, procedures and operations, including maintenance, upgrades and enhancements to hardware and software, office-specific applications and databases, digital forensics program, SharePoint site, internal and external website updates and timely posting of all necessary materials IAW requirements and policy.
Supervises the compilation of data; reviews and edits written reports; and tabulates statistics for inclusion in the OIG Semiannual Report to Congress. Provides timely, relevant responses to annual and ad hoc requests for information from internal and external sources including Congressional requests.
Supervises others in performing Records Management functions, including update to policies and procedures, annual retirement of relevant records, storage and tracking of materials, and inventory of files.
Supervises teams in the planning and coordination of government-wide workshops, meetings and conferences for internal and external purposes, including logistics, registration, compilation of written and electronic materials, advertising and communications.
Supervises the OIG-wide Training Officers in projecting, registration, tracking and payments for mission-related and non-routine training.
