The Senior Social Worker, HUD-VASH (Housing and Urban Development/VA Supportive Housing) has experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. HUD-VASH is an intensive case management program for chronically homeless Veterans aimed at providing psychosocial services to Veterans while residing in stable housing through HUD's Section 8 voucher system. The incumbent will function as a Case Manager for Veterans receiving housing through the HUD-VASH program.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, flexible weekends as needed. Subject to change based on agency needs.

The Senior Social Worker, HUD-VASH will be responsible for providing case management for a caseload of Veterans in the HUD-VASH program. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing agreements between Section 8, landlords, Public Housing Authorities and the VA in establishing appropriate referral sites for HUD-VASH placements. The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 1B facility, serving Veterans in Mississippi and parts of Louisiana providing primary, secondary and tertiary medical, neurological and mental health inpatient care. Services include hemodialysis, sleep studies, substance abuse treatment, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), hematology/oncology and rehabilitation programs. Both primary and specialized outpatient services are available including such specialized programs as; ambulatory surgery, spinal cord injury, neurology, infectious disease, substance abuse, PTSD, readjustment counseling, mental health diagnostic and treatment programs. In addition, the facility provides comprehensive health care services for female Veterans patients and offers an 86-bed Community Living Center which includes Palliative Care. Outpatient clinics are in Hattiesburg, Meridian, Kosciusko, Greenville, Natchez, Columbus and McComb.
