The clinical psychologist in this position functions as the mental health expert on Spinal Cord Injury and Disease (SCI&D) inpatient and outpatient interdisciplinary teams at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VAMC, Richmond, VA. Duties involve both psychological assessment and intervention services in the diagnostically challenging patient population. Clinical work occurs on an individual basis, involves the family systems at times, and the interdisciplinary team. The position requires a foundational knowledge in areas of rehabilitation psychology and behavioral medicine, as well as evidence based assessment and intervention modalities in more traditional mental health.
