The Program Specialist is responsible to the Associate Chief of Staff/Mental Health (ACOCS/MH) of the VA Black Hills Health Care System. The incumbent directly supports mental health programming by exercising staff responsibility for the development, maintenance, and administration of mental health programs assigned by ACOS/MH. The purpose of this work is to secure and provide management with materials and data required to manage the spectrum of mental health programs effectively. In performing this function the incumbent must apply administrative skills to implement long and short range strategic plans, coordinate day to day administrative tasks, and coordinate the administrative integration of these programs with the programs throughout the MH Service Line and the Black Hills Health Care System.
