- Signs drawings as required to ensure compliance with sound state-of-the-art engineering principles; local, state, and national codes and standards; Reclamation standards and policies; and project/client requirements. Assists in the preparation of construction logic diagrams and construction schedules. Reviews or directs the review of designs prepared by others.
- Plans work to be accomplished, coordinates and oversees work priorities and schedules, and monitors budgets for on-going work. Directs the preparation of designs, drawings, quantity estimates and design documentation. Prepares or directs the preparation of project plans to ensure an orderly and timely progression and completion of the work.
- Reviews specifications paragraphs to ensure consistency with designs and drawings. Serves in a liaison authority and in a coordinating capacity between the other Groups in the Technical Service Center, supervisory level regional and project personnel, and outside agencies and entities when special tests, research, or implementation of new equipment and designs of electrical features are involved.

Mastery of, and skill in applying, advanced theories, concepts, and principles practiced in the science of professional electrical engineering sufficient to serve as recognized authority related to the design of transformers ( both GSU & low/medium distribution), circuit breakers (all voltages),low and medium voltage distribution, control systems, low/medium voltage switchgear, grounding, SCADA systems, governors, generators, and related fire protection systems.
2. Ability to plan, direct, and review existing design policy and procedures and can develop and implement new design policies and standards incorporating new technology; and can provide technical guidance and mentoring for other employees.
3. Ability to express information to individuals or groups taking into account the audience and nature of the information.
