- Designs protective relaying systems for switchyard, substation, and power plant electrical systems including analysis and selection of protective relaying schemes and equipment. Prepares complex technical reports and recommendations for power systems and associated correspondence. Provides consultation, installation, and participation in client-led engineering teams.
- Performs technical studies with short-circuit, arc flash, harmonic, load flow, and dynamic computer software models to make technical recommendations on type, size, capacity, rating, location, and connection of electrical equipment as required.
- Preparation of equipment technical recommendations, as used by other engineering groups, in designs for switchyards, substations, power plants and pumping plants; includes determinations of size and arrangement of equipment such as power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, fuses and surge arresters.
